Albemarle County Schools redistricing

Kids are being moved around the County school
system

that the planning committee will recommend that they should “(move) all Stony
Point students to Burley Middle School, instead of continuing to send half to
Sutherland Middle. Committee members also favored moving all Meriwether Lewis
students to Henley Middle instead of splitting the population with Jack
Jouett.”

This is one of the most
palpable, tangible effects of the growth that our region is experiencing. The
initial public hearings were just that – the public could attend and listen to
the panel members debate the merits of redistricting, but the public could not
comment. Blood pressures must have been boiling!

If you know your school board member,
contact him or her and let your voice be heard.
