Jocelyn -

Thank you for reading and commenting.

Please don't misread me - I did not/do not intend to denigrate in any way, shape or form those who are not self-employed. I personally cannot understand one who keeps a job and watches the clock waiting for the day to end. For my personality, that is a special type of hell. :)

Happiness is a fluid thing that is achieved in different ways by all sorts of different people. I didn't mean to imply either right or wrong, but I do feel that without a certain level of challenge, there may not be innovation.

My husband doesn't view his vocation as his avocation. He loves being able to leave work at work (actually, he leaves it in the guest room--he telecommutes). His callings are writing and music and if he can ever make those profitable, I'd love for him to do those full-time. As it is, he needs something that doesn't suck his soul while he pays the bills. He finds his work enjoyable primarily because it neither bores him nor consumes him. He's free to be consumed after hours.
