Comparisons between the two - now that would be an interesting study to see.

The Daily Progress missed an opportunity with it’s failure to compare and contrast.

Isn't that what blogs are for? :)

I've read in the DP article how "expensive" a Rapid Transit Bus system with it's own dedicated lane would be.

However what I haven't seen, which I think would put the whole subject into a proper context, what I haven't seen is the price comparisons. The cost between that Rapid Transit System "from Downtown up 29 North to the Airport" (9.9 miles) and the cost of that Rail Streetcar up West Main to JPA (1.23 miles). Or the Price comparisons between the Rapid Transit Bus with dedicated lane and the price comparisons of a Rail Streetcar covering the same distance and serving the same area (downtown to the airport).

I think the cost comparison would favor the bus system, and I think, since it seems as if City Council clearly favors the Streetcar, you won't see that cost comparison made.
