I live in a townhouse built by one of Jamie Spence's previous companies. Stuff was never finished (punch list repairs.) Once all the units were sold, the company declared bankruptcy and I and my neighbors were stuck with problems in our homes and no recourse. Now another company, same owners and another set of future homeowners who may be in for the same ride.

Follow-up:

My significant other called Church Hill Homes today about some random stuff related to our house and, of course, she asked about the recent news. We’d encourage any new owners or potential buyers to do the same.

They provided us with details about future plans for our neighborhood and for the company as a whole. They’ve been very transparent about the current situation, and we appreciate their honesty.

To the person who emailed me about this story (my email to you was kicked back) -

Thanks for your email and for reading.

Church Hill, like many builders, is going through some rough times right now, and the rumors have been swirling for some time. This announcement, in my mind, serves to alleviate some of those fears and concerns specific to Belvedere. I have been pushing and hoping for something like this to clarify what is going on with them; the rumors have been

Have you seen the blog written by the first buyers in Belvedere? (they’re my clients) http://homeatbelvedere.blogspot.com/

Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you; I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you about representing you in your move to the area.

Bette -

My thoughts on Carter's View are that they are still moving along - both with Winn and Church Hill.

First Time -

Time will tell. There would seem to be real opportunities for some to come in and relieve Church Hill of some of their debts and capitalize on this part of the market.

As a new buyer of a Church Hill home not located in Belvedere, I wonder if this optimism can be stretched over to the other neighborhoods that Church Hill is/was developing.
