It was on time and took 2h30m, the same as driving. Fare was $26, though. It leaves after 5pm which is great for leaving work but the morning train arrives after 11am so it's no good for Monday morning. I took it from Alexandria to C-ville last Friday. It's a shame it doesn't come through Charlottesville earlier, but hopefully this is a sign that eventually it will become better-scheduled and more frequent. The husband has used it twice to go into DC for CE courses that were on a weekend. Because of the time that it arrives in DC it works better for him on Fridays than when he needs to be there early.
