			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I found this site this morning &#8211; <a href="http://www.madisonmatters.com/">MadisonMatters</a> with an interesting editorial by <a href="http://www.baconsrebellion.com/">James Bacon</a>.</p>
<p><em>    Sprawl is eroding the Commonwealth&#8217;s exceptional rural landscapes. Anyone concerned about Virginia&#8217;s quality of life and economic competitiveness should be worried.<br />
</em><br />
I can&#8217;t say that I disagree with his sentiments. If nothing else, I learned a bit about the <a href="http://www.conservationfund.org/pagespinner.asp?article=1000">Conservation Fund</a>. The idealist in me continues to firmly believe that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_growth">smart growth</a> can be accomplished &#8211; preserving natural resources, both below and above the surface, preserving the marketable views and landscapes, et. al. while still having a quality real estate market AND a high quality of life. I just haven&#8217;t yet figured out how to accomplish all this.</p>

gorgeous place to live and visit, and is even becoming a bit of a commuter<br />
community to Northern Virginia, if you can believe it!</font></div>
