Google Real Estate Trends
Google Trends for Finance … this is for real estate.
A few years ago I wrote a story titled What if Zillow is Right?. Replace "Zillow" with "Google".
Yet I have been wondering – what if Zillow’s reach becomes so great, their data become so vast and inclusive, that their Zestimates significantly impact what is fair market value? What if the purchasing and selling population refer to Zillow as the end-all, be-all estimator for their homes’ valuations? What if “close enough” is “good enough”? What if they become the de facto standard

Property Videos – What do Buyers Want?
Michael at FlexMLS wrote a few months ago that:
70% of consumers would be more likely to list with an agent if they used video as part of their marketing effort. In contrast, only .33% (that’s one-third of one percent) of agents use video.

Market Data Coming Soon
A new way to display and interact with market data in the Charlottesville market is coming soon … I was hoping that it would be ready this month, but things just didn’t work out. Sometimes being a first-mover has its advantages and its frustrations. Luckily, the folks with whom I am working are really good people and dedicated to getting the data right.
