What’s it worth, baby?

The pitch: The Equifax Home Valuator?
will improve your knowledge when buying or selling a home and is a good way to
measure the value of most any
home.

…I dug (ok, clicked) a little
bit deeper and found their nifty little disclaimer – Sellers: The value range of
your home reflects the price of comparable homes sold in your neighborhood. The
condition of your home, any improvements you’ve made, and fluctuations in the
real estate market will determine your home’s true market value. Before pricing
your home for sale, consult a real estate professional and/or certified
appraiser for a comprehensive market analysis. I am not sure what their sources
are for their data, but if they are pulling tax data that is at least a month
old (and frequently more) they are demonstrating the saying about a fool and his
money ….

Another attempt at selling home
valuations, this time by
Equifax.

The pitch: The Equifax
Home Valuator? will improve your knowledge when buying or selling a home
and is a good way to measure the value of most any home. When buying a home,
you’ll be in a stronger position to negotiate a favorable price. When selling,
you’ll better meet your goals of selling quickly or getting the best price. Just
curious? See the range of what your home is
worth.

The price tag: One property
search: $6.95, 10 property searches:
$19.95
