On Barry Bonds

If he’s just staying in for the record, why don’t the players just not pitch to him? What better statement from those who haven’t cheated?

I don’t care too much for baseball, but I do have great disdain for cheaters. Of all the articles I read yesterday on this, this one by Buster Olney stood out.

You can only hear about a certain topic so many times before you have to start believing it’s true. It’s a real ashame that the two authors felt the need to wait until the MLB season (and the Baseball World Classic season)started a fresh year to publish their book. It’s a crushing blow to baseball. Although, even more so, what if Barry Bonds really did take performance enhancing drugs? I don’t know whether he did or didn’t but I do know that this whole situation is bad for the entire baseball community.

Anyone who knows baseball knows that Bonds used performance enhancing drugs. Besides eye witness accounts (which admittedly can be suspect), baseball facts bear out the claims.

Baseball has been around for over 100 years. In that time only 2 people hit 60 homers (61 by maris the last). Then within the span of a couple of years 2 guys hit over 70! This speaks volumes.

PS. It is common knowledge that homers fill the seats. Yankee Stadium was created to help Ruth hit more. Whenever baseball as a business needs publics attention & revenue they focus on homers not defense.
