   You should stop by the Charlottesville Historical Society. They have great old maps of Charlottesville (or they used to when I was younger) that you can (or could) purchase reproductions of, and they’re in a bit more detail than the one above.

   And yes physically and geographically Charlottesville has changed. Although in other unmeasurable aspects, it hasn’t changed one bit.

   Sanborn Fire Insurance company made detailed maps of charlottesville, including building footprints and names of some businesses. The 1907 and 1920 maps are available on UVA’s website:
