What Questions do you Have for the Charlottesville and Albemarle Candidates?

Once again, Charlottesville Tomorrow proves how to:

1) Provide tremendous value to the community.

2) Try to get the public engaged in the political process.

Using Google Moderator they’re asking voters for their questions.

Here’s one way to find out: this month, we’ll be co-hosting with The Daily Progress a series of candidate forums. This time, we don’t just want you to come – we want you to create the audience questions we’ll ask. Follow this link to our elections page, where you’ll have the opportunity to submit questions and vote on questions submitted by our community. The questions with the most votes will have the best chance of being asked!

I don’t know how to frame this any differently – local elections matter. The water supply, the Western Bypass, the Meadowcreek Parkway, affordable housing for the homeless, monorail, zonings, rezonings … these are all issues that affect how we live every day.

Except for the monorail. But I’d wager the City would approve it given the opportunity.

Thanks, Jim! More local political figures, including Mayor Dave Norris, appear on the locally-produced Charlottesville politics interview program Politics Matters with host Jan Paynter: http://bit.ly/polmatters. The interview can be found in the Program Library. The current program features Bob Gibson, Executive Director of the UVA Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, discussing journalism and the media.

Thanks so much for this. I haven’t seen or heard of this before, so will definitely check it out this afternoon.
