October has been a busy, busy month for the fine folks at Charlottesville Tomorrow; these are but a few of their stories most relevant to those who live in, near, or are thinking about moving to Charlottesville or Albemarle.

• Albemarle may be moving their courts out of Downtown Charlottesville
  • This is big, and if they move, would change the efficiency of real estate closings in Charlottesville.
• New site plan for North Pointe development on 29N on the way
  • 29 North is getting more developed … and the segmentation of Charlottesville and Albemarle continues. (no judgement, just observation)
• City, county discuss coordinating on area marketing strategy
  • My suggestion: merge the City of Charlottesville and County of Albemarle. Then market as one.

• Supervisors and Councilors agree to discuss regional transit authority
  • My prediction: there will be lots of meetings, grants, millions spent, and nothing substantive will happen.
• Albemarle eyes $8.6 million surplus for FY16

• Neighborhoods present united front against density on East Jefferson
  • City planning commission narrowly recommends denial of East Jefferson density
• School officials look west as Crozet growth continues
  • This part struck me:  “Schools facilities planners monitor proposed developments, but proposed houses do not get included in capacity projections. The problem for the division, Tistadt said, is that planned houses do not always materialize.”
