Inexperienced Agents in Charlottesville
Record numbers of new real estate agents and a rising number of complaints – and worse – against the industry have veterans alarmed about whether these novices really know how to buy and sell a house…. “There’s an overwhelming number of new people with inadequate training and that means there are more ethics complaints and more lawsuits…. the industry has an often-repeated standard that 20 percent of the agents do 80 percent of the work, which doesn’t leave a lot of business for newcomers.”When the tide turns, it will separate the wheat from the chaff,” Harrington said.

This morning’s monthly meeting of Realtors was interesting and informative.Harrison Rue, Director of the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development spoke about some of the most important projects have identified, notably the Hillsdale Connector and the Meadowcreek Parkway.

WINA -Several local schools made the annual list of America’s top high schools.The latest issue of “Newsweek” Magazine ranks Charlottesville, Albemarle, and Western Albemarle High School on the list of the Top 1000 schools. Having a large number of students taking Advanced Placement tests will generally help a school’s cause.CHS appears in position #485. Albemarle High shows up as #769, and Western Albemarle appears as #886.
