Finally. After much turmoil *and 24 hours of lost email*, I have now fully opened up my new real estate website. If you get a moment, check it out. The time I have spent on this over the past week has completely drained me. Downtime, lost email, content creation … Christmas, blogging, debating career moves, actually selling real estate … whew!
I think everything is all sorted now. Email is finally working smoothly thanks to Google Apps, jduncanrealestate.com is redirecting to realcentralvarealestate.com and I have some great ideas for both this blog and the new site.
Ideas:
Targeted pages to some of the strongest employers in the area, specifically the National Grounds Intelligence Center which houses a large number of active military, government contractors and civilians (and is poised to add 1200+ jobs). Another core segment of the Charlottesville market is the University of Virginia – specifically the Medical Center and its Residency program. Two of the sections I am most looking forward to developing are the ones for first-time home-buyers and luxury buyers. Two very different markets with their own idiosyncrasies and unique aspects.
Real estate is local, and the information there will remain local, yet has to have an international reach, so writing ad copy with that in mind will be a focus as well.
The question I continually ask myself is this – why did I feel confident making the change? Simple – my confidence in the people behind my new provider. Their customer service is extraordinary. They are constantly innovating and adding features (that work). Ubertor “gets it.”
