More notes from the Realtor meeting

Albemarle will spend about $10K per student next
year, comparable to some of the private
schools!

…There are more than 12,000
students in the Albemarle County School System. The SAT scores are 70 points
over the national average – better than Loudon County and Prince William County
schools.

81% of seniors took the SATs,
up from 71% (no date range was given) They handed out a nifty little fact sheet;
email me and I will send it to
you.

Most of the schools’ budget is
derived from the local real estate tax…. In a follow-up discussion with a
colleague, she asked why I had not queried Dr. Castner; my response is/was that
I could not formulate my inquiry in a fashion that would not have been taken in
a manner which he would have responded well.

I did hear some interesting facts this morning.

I heard a new term
to describe kids born after 2000 – neomillennial. I had no idea. There are more

Castner’s immediate defensive posture. In a follow-up discussion with a
colleague, she asked why I had not queried Dr. Castner; my response is/was that
I could not formulate my inquiry in a fashion that would not have been taken in
a manner which he would have responded well. One of my shortcomings is my
bluntness. I am working on that.
