Helping out a good cause – Charlottesville Muscular Dystrophy Association

With relative frequency, I am asked to give to various charities; most often I give as much as I can.

Last week I was invited to be “Locked Up” for Muscular Dystrophy (no longer available). This is something I remember my dad doing when I was a kid (and he was the Realtor), so I guess this is a sign of adulthood, something I have never quite been prepared for.

In short, I am going to be “locked up” at the Downtown Omni at 10am on 1 November of this year.

Taking a cue from Todd’s recent drive for the March of Dimes, I’ll offer a RealCentralVA t-shirt (no longer available) to the first five donors (of at least $25). I didn’t know until I set up my fundraising page (no longer available) that apparently my goal is $3,000 – which seems quite lofty, but anything that I can do to help out this very worthy cause I will.

76% of donations stay local in Charlottesville, the rest goes to national research (and apparently there’s a research center in Charlottesville).
