Blogging for Business

I attended the VPTC “‘Casting for Customers” on Thursday and was quite impressed (as I fully expected to be) with the quality of the discussion. Cvillepodcast has the podcast and there is a brief blogging “primer” on Michael Prichard’s site.

Coincidentally, I came across this site yesterday, which led me to this blog discussing how and whether companies should integrate blogging into their corporate marketing plans. His arguments are against corporate blogs, per se.

Blogging’s effects and impact on my business

(I showed his house the other day, it is beautiful, but just not right for my clients)He says, in part:After two full years of continuous blogging, I am more imbued with enthusiasm about life than when I started.  I think this is because I am allowed and encouraged to communicate my ideas with more people than ever before. One of the most important comments he makes is this:I get almost instantaneous feedback on how valuable or confusing my communication seems to readers.  As a result, I am driven to communicate more effectively.I have been blogging for almost a year, and my blog has certainly evolved from this to what you see today….  Constant writing and critical and creative thinking forces me to one, develop my skills as a writer and two, be and project myself as being, a (the?)

Wine Talk

Did you know that October is Virginia Wine Month? To celebrate, Tastings of Charlottesville has partnered with Wordcast Productions to produce the first Charlottesville/Central Virginia wine podcast.  If you are interested in the region’s wine, this is an excellent listen.  Central Virginia has an extraordinary number of excellent vineyards that consistently produce excellent wines….  I believe that this in an excellent opportunity to accomplish a few things – first, to continue my love of wine, second, to be a part of a format that I believe will only grow and three, increase my business’ and my blog’s profile in a segment of the real estate market I believe to be very desirable.
