If you could ask Lawrence Yun a question, what would it be?

I am intrigued by Lawrence Yun.  He even has his own Lawrence Yun Watch site, following his predecessor’s own “Watch” site.  If only because watching him painstaking try to regain the credibility that was squandered by David Lereah is a monumental task.  If you had the chance to ask him one question – about where he candidly thinks the economy is going to what his thoughts are about stepping into such a politically daunting position – what would it be?

A note regarding my meebo widget

Over to the right of my page, there is a “contact me” widget.  The messages there are private.  I never solicit nor spam commenters.The greatest problem I have with the widget is that sometimes I do not see that someone is trying to contact me as there is no notification that I have a visitor.  I apologize for that, but am diligently trying to find a solution.You may also contact me here.I am posting this because I just missed an opportunity to talk with someone; to you specifically I apologize.

I guess I’ve got the traffic, and now I’ve got the convenience

The title quote from Hugh Underwood in today’s Daily Progress accurately sums up the approval of the Avon Center.The segmentation of our region continues …One of the greatest negatives about living on the east side or south side of Charlottesville is the lack of shopping; now that problem will be no more. The Fifth Street-Avon Center development will bring a grocery, home improvement store and large discount retailer, along with a promenade of smaller shops and restaurants. Lawrence Yun, thank you for speaking the truth about too many Realtors

How many understand the importance of repeat and referral business and not just a single transaction?Given that about ½ million REALTORS® have less than 5 years of experience, sloppiness in some transactions no doubt exists….  Every attempt by state and local REALTOR® associations to further raise professional standards gets knocked down by government regulators as hindering competition.  NAR has made efforts to strengthen professional standards and the code of ethics but has been careful, knowing that the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission will be breathing down our neck….  Which is worse for the consumer (and the profession) – lots of unprepared Realtors waving their state licenses about pretending to be “professionals” or a higher barrier of entry to the profession, so that it might actually be regarded as a profession and not a hobby?Locally, over the past twelve months, in the Charlottesville area, 374 Realtors have had more than five transactions.
